MORNIN'S GLORY
Sold to Tina of Ontario

1997-[CAN]2056
July 3, 1997

Black with two white hind socks (Ee)

CR Sweetwater Sundance X Top O'the Mornin'

Glory is about 14.3 hh, a well built, very good looking mare.  People are alway commenting on her beauty.  She is very well balanced.  Glory was my first walker baby from my first walker mare, Mornin'.  She was also one of the first horses that I started by myself.  I took her to my first walker clinic, rode her on some major trail rides, moved cattle, ridden in a parade,  and the kids enjoyed riding her around the yard, all before she was four.  She had her first foal when she was five and has been an outstanding brood mare since.  We've given her every third year off from foaling so we could enjoy her.  In 2007 she went out on lease to Saskatawan for a job of "husband horse".  There she really put on the miles, heading to Cypress Hills and a few other week long camp trips.

CHEROKEE'S SCARLETSURPRIZE

1997-[CAN]1963
May 25, 1997

Scarlet is a bright sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail.  I purchased her from Les and Judy Young.  She got her name from the surprise they got when her blue roan dam, who has always had blue roan foals had this brightly coloured sorrel filly.

Scarlet is a very pleasant mare to own and handle.  She had never been in a trailer before or even tied up and she accepted everything as a matter of course.  I did start to train her to saddle, but she kept coming up lame in her right front foot.  A diagnosis of ring bone put an end to any thought of riding her.  During her ground work though, she was very willing, accepting the saddle and bridle with no problems, especially nice for an older horse.   On the lunge she had a real nice flat walk, but when pushed was lame, so I never got to assess her run walk.

DIXIE'S JUST PUSH PLAY
Sold to Tina of Ontario

2002-[CAN]2854
May 12, 2002

Black with left front white foot and right  back hind foot

Dixie's Hot Chocolate X Tradition's Angel

"Angel" is my tallest mare, standing a true 16hh.   I got her as a three year old and bred her to my Rascal that year.  She was started as a two year old and I rode her around the farm when she was three.  She stands like a rock when I clamer on (trust me, with her so tall it is not a pretty site!), is not spooky and has lots of try.  Angel is very solid feeling and has a good walk.  She is very friendly and loves attention.

She had a wonderful filly for 2006 then I left her open for 2007 so I could get some riding time on her.  I took her to the Bucky Sparks clinic in July 2007.  Once again I was pressed for time, so after not being ridden in a year and half I rode her around the yard and loaded her up into the trailer and off we went to the clinic.
Angel did fantastic!  She tried her best to understand what I was asking her, and we pushed her pretty hard.  Not once did she offer to refuse.  We got an amazing run walk out of her, the trick with her was less on the bridle as she had some lingering issues with it.  The picture is of Angel and me at the 2007 clinic when she was 5 years old.

With these wonderful characteristics I know she will have some outstanding foals for us.

CSR MY GOLDEN GIRL TARA

2003-[CAN] 3047
May 13, 2003

Gold Champagne  (ee ch)

Neitak's Gold Chip  X  Cherokee's Scarletsurprize

Tara stands aproximatly 15.1 hh, making her a nice size mare.  She has good bone,  straight front legs, a good head and neck.  She is not your typical narrow chested walking horse, and has good depth to her.
With her pretty gold champagne colour, she can throw beautiful champagne foals.
Tara is broke and offers a safe, comfortable ride.

MORNIN'S CUPPA KOKO

1999- [CAN] 3320

Bay (Ee Aa)

Dixie's Hot Chocolate X Top O'the Mornin'

Koko is a good sized mare, standing 15.1 hh and built like a tank.  She is often mistaken for a Quarter Horse!  Although she isn't the biggest striding horse around, she has an honest 4 beat gait that is very comfortable to ride.  She was ridden quite a bit as a 5 year old, hitting the trails around home and I even managed a trip to the Blackfoot with her.  We've left her open for 2009 to get some more miles on her.

REFERENCE MARES

TOP'O THE MORNIN'

1991- [CAN]1016

Chestnut (ee, Aa)

Northfork Sky Walker X
Chapie's Belle

Mornin' was the first walker that I had purchased in 1996.  I went to Jean Remple's farm determined not to buy the first horse that I saw.  Mornin' was a diamond in rough with her shaggy spring hair and pregnant belly, but she impressed me so much with her calmness.  She was taken out of her pasture and was standing quietly tied to a trailer.  My hyper Appy mare would never have been quiet like that!
I went and looked at several more mares over the next few weeks, but in the end, I came back for Mornin'.
She was first horse that I broke, and I was so impressed with my talents, not realising at the time that I possed not much skill, it was the horse who made it easy.

Mornin' was my favorite trail riding horse, cattle horse and all around everything horse.  She did have a few quirks, such as stealing foals at every oportunity, and hating to get caught.  I would let her race around me a few laps and then shout "that's enough WHOA" and she would come to a stop.  I would also point my finger and give her the "boarder collie" stare.  Not exactly Monty Roberts, but it worked.
We kept some of Mornin's daughters - Mornin's Glory and Mornin's Cuppa Koko for brood mares , and Mornin's Miracle is my regular riding horse.
I sold Mornin' in 2007 to a wonderful lady who has given her a special home.  Debbie needed a safe and sane horse and I wasn't using Mornin' as a brood mare anymore.  Now she gets lots of attention and love, is spoiled rotten and rules the roost.

Mornin' was a big part of my breeding herd and through her daughters we will continue with her legecy.

CALTA TINKERBELLE

CDN-524-
May 1, 1986

Chestnut

Calta Midnite Victry X
She'za Belle

I got Tinkerbelle as a grand old lady of 18.  After I brought her home I was thinking, gee her name sounds familiar so I went and dug through my papers and it turns out that she is my filly's Tara's great-grand mother!

She has done us proud with presenting us with 3 fine foals.  Each foal was a gift and I was plesently surprised when she gave birth.  She is now retired, acting as grandma to the foals.

Palomino (sooty)  (ee Cr/N)

Goldust's Goldn'Silver X
N-Mile Miss Molly

"Blondie" as this mare is affectionatly known, is a quiet, reserved type horse.   She is a grandaughter of TENNESSEE GOLDUST, and on the bottom side of her papers  has NORTHFORK SKY WALKER AND CALTA MIDNITE VICTRY, both notable Alberta stallions.
She is a beautiful golden palomino that just glows in the sun.  She has a big, walky stride, I'm just sorry that I never got her broke.  We got as far as ground work, saddling and bridling.  She gave us a wonderfull sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail colt shortly after she came here to live, and has given us two more outstanding foals since then.
